Welcome to the Ideas Factory Barnsley.

It’s often hard making an idea turn into reality. That’s why we’ve made it our goal is to bring together fledgling entrepreneurs with experts in product development. We believe with just a little bit of advice and encouragement taking the big plunge into business won’t be all that daunting.

Great ideas, made real

Having worked at Moorland Plastics for only four month I found loads of people were calling us up, looking for advice on product development. Many of those people were still stuck in the idea development stage. The more I think about it, the more this is a great stage to be stuck at, because at the other end of the spectrum are people with products but not designed for any market. They are asking for failure.

So our mission is to make great ideas better.

We’ll support you with ways to brainstorm ideas, methods for organic market research (that doesn’t cost the earth), we’ll teach you the basics of good product design, and ways to build your prototype. Once you’re at that stage, you’ll need to market test your ideas. So we’ll give you all the support you need to take your product to buyers, to learn from their needs and maybe revamp your product. Then being a manufacturing company, we’ll give you honest advice on how to manufacture your products and methods for marketing them.

Probably the most crucial stage of success will be gaining financial support. Because you’re working with a multi-agency organisation we’ll make sure you’ve got your pitch just right for investors.
