Five reasons to work with Moorland
History
Our origins began in 1966, a good year all round. The Beatles had released Revolver, the England football team beat the Germans 4:2 in the FIFA World Cup and Moorland Plastics was born.
Since then things have changed, but our vision remains the same, ‘To manufacture ideas for improved living standards’. Back in the 1960s this was providing employment for people with disabilities; today we employ 30 people with disabilities, and are developing products which make a positive impact on the world.
As a sheltered employer, owned by Barnsley Council, we are unique entity in UK plastics industry. We have very low staff turnover rates, so our labour force is highly experienced. We don’t pay shareholder dividends, meaning our prices are very competitive. And we’re not governed by monthly cash flow. This means we can produce your goods at the start of the financial year, and then you can call them off as you need them. No more stock shortages.
